ABDULAZEEZ ABDULRAHEEM (Associate Professor, Petroleum Engg, KFUPM) أستاذ مشارك جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن Contributions to Arabic Teaching (May Allah accept these humble efforts) Dr. Abdulazeez Abdulraheem is an Associate Professor of Petroleum Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In addition to Engineering, his passion is to teach Arabic to masses and school children so that they can understand the Qur an. Over past 25 years, he has been working on developing simplified courses for learning Arabic. Alhamdulillah, his courses are now implemented in more than 2000 schools. He has taught the course on different international TV channels too such as Peace TV, Paigham TV, ETV, and Guide US TV and delivered his courses in several countries from Norway, UK, South Africa to India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burnei, Hongkong, and almost all the gulf countries. He has 2.6 million FB fans and has personally taught to almost 10,000 students in different workshops conducted in these countries. His new approach to teaching Arabic using TPI (Total Physical Interaction) has been highly successful both among adults as well as children. The TPI system is developed for teaching Tajweed, Sarf, and Nahw and is found to be very easy, effective, and highly interactive. His approach involves the use of those texts which are familiar to every Muslim such as Salah and daily supplications. This gives another powerful and easy start for every Muslim to learn Arabic. Using Salah itself, within 20 hours, the first course on Understand Al-Qur an teaches a student 125 words that occur almost 40,000 times in the Qur an. This is done along with Grammar and 100 interactive dialogues.
